Kerala: District adminstration deploys rapid response team at Chellanam

KOCHI: In the backdrop of intensified lockdown in red-coded containment zones in coastal areas, the district administration has constituted a Covid Rapid Response Team (RRT) comprising officers of revenue, police and health departments, to be stationed at Chellanam, where a cluster has formed.

The Covid RRT under the control of Tahsildar, Kochi will decide on the movements and emergency exits from the critical containment zone. They shall also regulate the movement of goods vehicles and manpower intended to replenish the stocks of grocery/vegetable/ meat shops and medical shops and all other essential services like water, electricity and sanitations. Tahsildar would nominate a deputy tahsildar and clerical staff at one shift and ensure it works 24 hours.

The RRT will also ensure sufficient shops providing essential items and medical services and medicines are available to the people living within the containment zone.

The food and civil supplies department have been asked to distribute 5 Kgs rice in the area, and the cost of this would be borne by the Disaster Management Department.
Regional Manager, Supplyco has been directed to provide Mobile Maveli Store service in the critical containment zone area. Fisheries department in consultation with the health department will issue separate 

Standard Operating Procedures for ensuring social distancing at fish landing centers, fishing villages, fish market and sale and marketing of the daily catch.

As per revised guidelines for containment zones, grocery shops and bakeries are allowed to function from 7am to 9am for restocking and from 10am to 6pm for sales. Milk booths can operate 5am to 10am and 4pm to 6pm.

All individuals who visited the containment zone have been advised to be in self quarantine for a period of 14 days from the last day of visit.
